Central Saanich GVPL
The Greater Victoria Public Library endeavours to grow with local communities to benefit present and future generations. The library system serves 10 municipalities in the Capital Regional District. A wide range of materials are available to borrow including books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, audiobooks, databases, encyclopedias and electronic resources. There are books and resources for all age groups and literacy levels including multicultural and Aboriginal materials. Each branch hosts a variety of events and programs such as family storytime, computer classes, reading buddies, talks on various topics, and demonstrations.
The Central Saanich Library and Cultural Centre was built in 1989 as part of an Expo 86 Legacy Project. It joined the Greater Victoria Public Library in January 2002 following a community referendum. The branch is has beautiful views of Pioneer Park.
